Welcome to AustralianPlays.org, the world’s online showcase of the best Australian playscripts.
We have designed this site to make it easy for you to browse our comprehensive catalogue and find the ideal play for your next production.
Set up and managed by the Australian Script Centre in collaboration with PlayWriting Australia, Currency Press and Playlab Press, AustralianPlays.org offers the combined catalogues of our project partners together in one place. We also distribute titles from a range of casual suppliers and welcome enquiries from publishers, theatrical agents and theatre companies interested in our distribution service.
Works for sale on this site may be available in digital format as pdf downloadable documents or as print-published books. In some cases, you have a choice of digital or printed book format. You can also use the secure online shopping cart to buy a licence to make multiple copies of your pdf purchases.
Production enquiries in relation to any play on the site are always welcome.
To help you select the right play for your needs, we provide free extracts of all digitised scripts. Our keyword search facility makes it even easier by allowing you to search for plays by title, writer, category, subject, length, cast size or target audience.
For producers, drama educators, students, playwrights and others interested in keeping up-to-date with the latest hot scripts, subscription is a great option. Subscribers have unlimited access to our unique online library where they can read any play from the Australian Script Centre’s current catalogue of more than 800 scripts. Subscribers are also entitled to receive a limited number of free scripts of their choice. Further information about subscription is available here.
