Linda Stainton


A writer and actor, Linda has worked as a screenwriter, script editor and storyliner for TV drama, winning an AWGIE in 1998 for Best Script for TV Serial for 'Home and Away'. Her plays have been produced in Australia at Belvoir Street, Q Theatre, Old Nick Theatre (Tas), the University of Tasmania, Three Stage Theatre and the Melbourne Comedy Festival. She has written and performed cabaret throughout independent venues in Sydney. Linda has been a writer-in-residence, actor and drama tutor with the Q Theatre, New England Theatre Company and Self-Raising Theatre. In 1985 she helped create the On Cue Pub Theatre Company where she was a co-writer and performer. In 2001 she co-founded the Acting Factory Inc, based in Penrith, NSW. She was Secretary for three years, then President from 2004 until 2007, during which time the company produced over 20 stage plays.
