Chris Summers

Chris Summers is an emerging playwright based in Melbourne. He won the 2005 Sydney Theatre Company Young Playwright Award, the 2008 St Martins National Playwriting Award (shortlisted in 2010) and a 2009 Script Development Award from Union House Theatre. He is currently under commission from St Martins Youth Theatre for Rat (dir. Petra Kalive, 2012) and Union House Theatre for No Place Like (dir. Tom Gutteridge, May 2011).

Crossed is a commission from Platform Youth Theatre and receives its Melbourne debut in June 2011 at LaMama Courthouse, directed by Matt Scholten and dramaturged by Angela Betzien. Chris is currently completing his undergraduate study at the University of Melbourne and looks forward to getting outta there.
