Pauline Hosking


Pauline Hosking taught Drama in secondary schools for many years, and has had plays for primary students published in education magazines. Her plays include 'Chameleons' (La Mama ), 'Snakes and Ladders' (La Mama; pub. Bushfire Press), 'The Entrepreneurs' (the Courthouse Theatre; University of Tasmania) and 'Gallery Gamble', a large cast comedy (pub. Bushfire Press).

In 1998 Pauline formed Spanda Productions, with 'Blood and Bone - menopause the time of your life' as their first production. 'Blood and Bone' had three seasons and toured Victoria and South Australia between 1998 and 2000. 'My bed is a crocodile' was the second Spanda Production, followed by 'Dollar Dreams' (about poker machine gambling), and 'Better than This' which was commissioned by the Grampians Psychiatric Services and deals with teenagers at risk.

'Snakes and Ladders', 'My bed is a crocodile' and 'Better than this' were on the VCAA Drama and Theatre Studies Playlist in 1993, 1999 and 2002 respectively, as one of twelve plays to be studied by Year 12 VCE Drama and Theatre Studies students in that year.
