Clem Gorman
Clem Gorman was born in Perth in 1942, and attended the Universities of Western Australia and Sydney. He moved to London in 1970 and, while working as a theatre administrator, his writing career commenced with first non-fiction books, then plays. Following the staging of his second play, A Manual of Trench Warfare in 1979, Gorman returned to Australia and lived as a freelance writer for ten years. He now lectures at Wollongong University where he completed a Doctorate of Creative Arts. A Manual of Trench Warfare is based on Gorman's own experiences as a young man whan he was experimenting with his sexuality.
