Heather Nimmo / Tobsha Learner


Heather Nimmo was born in Falkirk, Scotland, in 1952. She emigrated with her family to Australia when she was ten. She has written plays, plays for children and musicals. One Small Step won a Western Australian Premier's Book Award in 1993. With her geologist husband, Nimmo has lived and worked in many remote areas of Australia. Currently she is living in Perth where she teaches scriptwriting at a number of Western Australian universities.

Originally from London, where she trained to be a sculptor, Tobsha Learner currently divides her time between the UK, the US and Australia. An award-winning playwright, her plays include Fidelity, Homage, S.N.A.G., The Glass Mermaid, Wolf and Witchplay. Learner is also the best-selling author of the acclaimed collection of stories, Quiver. The Witch of Cologne, her historical novel set in seventeenth-century Germany, has been published in Australia, Germany and the US. Learner has also published a collection of short stories, Tremble: Sensual Fables of the Mystical and Sinister.
