Margery's writing credits include Milo's Wake, co-written with her husband Michael. Milo's Wake was commissioned by La Boite. It won the 2001 New South Wales Premier's Literary Award for Best Stage Play, the 2000 Matilda Award, the Perform/4MBS Award and an AWGIE Nomination 2001. Milo's Wake toured nationally under the aegis of Performing Lines and was produced by the Court Theatre in Christchurch and The Chelsea Players in London.
Michael and Margery also co-wrote Way Out West for La Boite and the Queensland Performing Arts Trust. Queensland tour for the Centenary of Federation, followed by a season at La Boite. Margery and Michael's play James and Johnno premiered at La Boite's Roundhouse Theatre in 2004. Her play X-Stacy was commissioned by La Boite Theatre and premiered in 1998, return season 1999 and Queensland and national tour. In 2003 X-Stacy had a season at Black Swan Theatre Company, Perth and national tour. X-Stacy received a Matilda Award Special Commendation. Michael and Margery also wrote Still Standing for La Boite. Sell-out season 2002, return sell-out season in 2003 and Queensland tour.
Margery's other writing credits include: What Next? (AWGIE Award 1998) joint production for the Queensland Performing Arts Trust and the Ethnic Communities Council; Professor Burton’s Travelling Federation Show, commissioned by the Centenary of Federation, Queensland (Queensland tour 1999, 2000, 2001 under the aegis the Queensland Arts Council); 1901 and Ghosts of Something Irish (Queensland tours 1991, 1992, 1993); Late Bloomers (for Queensland Performing Arts Trust and Ethnic Communities Council); My Life is Love: the Story of Gladys Moncrieff (Queensland Performing Arts Trust).
Margery received the 2002 Trust Award for Excellence for outstanding contribution to theatre in Queensland and Australia. She also received the 2002 Playlab Award for Services to New Work in Queensland. In 2003 Margery was a recipient of the Centenary Medal for services to Queensland Theatre.
