STOP MEANS GO
by Chris Thompson
It's the wee small hours of a long weekend somewhere in Melbourne...Gracie's been driving all night; Dean's pinched his mum's car and is out for a game of 'Stop Means Go' with his mate Angas; Sam's broken down on a lonely back road and Robbo pulls over to give her a lift… but he’s got more in mind than just being a good Samaritan.
Someone's not going to make it home tonight.
Reckless Driving, Desperate Driving, Crazy Driving, Driving with Attitude. Why do we think we can get away with it?
'One of the keys to successful youth theatre has to be creating work which has relevance to a young audience, and [with this one] St Martins has hit paydirt...the play has an unusual and effective structure, is peopled with believable and interesting characters, and is refreshingly free of preachiness or message.' Fiona Scott-Norman, Inpress Magazine, 26 August 1993
