The Australian Script Centre is 30!

7 Apr 2009

The Best Loved Australian Play poll currently running on the site with support from ABC Radio National is just part of the overall celebration for the Australian Script Centre's 30th birthday. The aim of the poll is to kick start a conversation about Australian theatre and the stories that celebrate and construct our culture.

‘Theatre can be a life-changing experience’, said Script Centre Director, Gail Cork. ‘We want to spark a national conversation about some of the wonderful plays that have enthralled and inspired us, the plays that have told our stories and left an enduring mark on our culture.’

Go to the poll and have your say by voting or telling us which plays you love.

Also to commemorate its 30th anniversary, the Script Centre commissioned four leading playwrights Adam Grossetti, Finegan Kruckemeyer, Sue Smith and Debra Oswald, to write a short play inspired by their residencies in four regional Tasmanian communities.
