The shortlisted plays in the drama category of the Victorian Premier's Literary Awards have been announced. There are five annual award categories (fiction, non-fiction, drama, poetry, young adult) each with a prize of $25 000.

Playwright Jackie Smith and producer Moira Finucane talk to the Australian Script Centre's Gail Cork about their production, The Flood, which is touring nationally presented by Finucane & Smith and Critical Stages. The Flood has been described as "Australian Gothic horror that defines the genre."
