Graham Pitts is a former cook, builder's labourer, book-seller, teacher and actor who began to seriously write for theatre in 1979 when he co-founded Sidetrack Theatre in Sydney. Since then he has written over forty plays, all produced by professional theatre companies around Australia. His main areas of interest are politics and humour. He has also often worked with community groups around the country and co-written plays with members of such groups, particularly the East Timorese in Darwin and Melbourne. He had been living in Perth for the past seven years but now lives happily in Melbourne. His plays include: Mesh, Memo, War of the Words, Death at Balibo, Emma, Edge and Timor Sae.
