Anni Finsterer is an Actor in Theatre, Film and Television, Writer, Director and a teacher of English, Drama and Acting. Her career has spanned film, television and theatre. Anni received an AFI Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Television Drama for her performance in 3 Acts of Murder. Her other television credits include Underbelly 5: Badness, City Homicide, All Saints, Love My Way. Anni has appeared in numerous feature films including Sleeping Beauty, The Clinic, The Boys Are Back, Prime Mover. Short films of 2012: Touch, Grace, Haystacks, Devine is Dead. She has an extensive list of stage credits including Poor Superman, The Threepenny Opera, Antony & Cleopatra and The Women of Troy for the STC; Ray’s Tempest, Jesus Hopped the A Train and The Threepenny Opera for Belvoir Street; Othello for Bell; The World’s Wife and Macbeth for MTC; Rabbit for Griffin, and Kimberly Akimbo for Ensemble Theatre. She has contributed to many script development workshops and performed in independent theatre productions including a tour of Asia and Europe with American Drama Group Europe.
Anni directed David Wenham in Dario Fo's 'Tale of a Tiger’, which toured Europe and co directed the critically acclaimed ‘East’ by Steven Berkoff.
As a writer Anni was commissioned by the Sydney Theatre Co. to write a new play for Australian Peoples Theatre. She wrote, performed and produced her one woman show ‘Gravegnomes.’ for La Mama in 2000 and wrote the Sitcom ‘Alive and Kicking’, funded by STC with CBS, America.
