Christine Davey is a regionally-based writer completing her Ph.D (RMIT) in screenwriting, and holds a Masters from the Victorian College of the Arts (screenwriting). As a playwright her work has been performed at Griffin Theatre, La Mama, the Malthouse, the Melbourne Writers’ Theatre and the Melbourne Theatre Company. She has won the Wal Cherry Play of the year award, the New Plot 107 award, the Playbox Mentorship award and various other short story, acting and playwriting accolades. She has been the recipient of a Bundanon Trust residency, the Wheeler Centre Hot Desk Fellowship, and City of Greater Geelong development funding and creative arts funding. Her one-act plays – Sudan, The Thing with Feathers, I’ve Got A Bug, and Howling at the Moon have won state-based awards and been produced by various theatre companies including Skin Of Our Teeth Productions, the Torquay Theatre Troupe and the Butterfly Club. Her adaptations of Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre and My Brilliant Career have been produced by Skin Of Our Teeth Productions. Christine is also a screenwriter, journalist, actor and director and lives in a farm with llamas and alpacas.
