Lissa Benyon
Lissa Benyon began her writing career in the theatre as a teenager in Canberra, as a member of Canberra Youth Theatre.
Her first play The Women of March the First was performed at the Nimrod Theatre Company in 1984, and she went on to write for theatre and television for several years before a move to the USA changed her career direction.
Under a pseudonym, she then wrote commercial women's fiction for many years, publishing nearly ninety novels before retiring several years ago to focus on environmental and political activism, and her garden.
She is married, with four adult children.
