Hannah Cockroft

Hannah Cockroft is a theatre and short fiction writer from Perth. Hannah developed a keen interest in creative writing during the completion of her Bachelor of Arts Degree (majoring in English and Cultural Studies) at the University of Western Australia. Having only previously written prose and short fiction, Hannah began writing for theatre in 2017, completing her first script Feast For Dogs for her creative Honours thesis. Since then, Hannah has participated in several playwriting courses and workshops, including ATYP’s Fresh Ink program and the Blue Room Theatre’s Sustained Playwriting in 2017. Her short fiction pieces Beach Bum and About Ants earned her a place as a writing and podcasts finalist for Frankie Magazine’s Good Stuff Awards in both 2017 and 2018. A Little Death is her first published play, and her first play to be developed for the stage.
