Howard Cassidy

Howard Cassidy is a founding member of Drama Queensland and Drama Australia. For thirty years as Head of Curriculum Drama and Theatre Education at Central Queensland University, Howard taught primary and secondary teachers, and trained actors for theatre and film. He toured his Theatre-in-Education and Storybook Theatre productions throughout Central Queensland in association with the Priority Country Area Program. More recently he has been a lecturer in Creative Industries (Drama) and Early Childhood Arts at QUT, Brisbane.

Since 2002, Howard has worked closely with debase productions, collaborating with Robert Kronk to create Snagged, Ithaca Road and Fly-In Fly-Out. In 2008, in association with Tim Mullooly, Howard established Off Road Drama Company, which creates and tours immersive theatre programs.

Howard has been honoured with a Life Membership of Drama Queensland “in recognition of his outstanding contribution to drama education”.
