GOGOL'S THE NOSE

The barber finds a nose belonging to one of his customers sticking out of his breakfast freshly baked loaf of bread. He drops it off a bridge. On the same morning, Kovaloff wakes up to discover his nose is missing. Later, he comes across it in the city, dressed in a uniform of a higher official than he is. The nose won’t even talk to him, let alone listen to reason.
They won’t even let Kovaloff puts an advertisement in the paper for its return. Women spurn him. Mirrors spurn him. He becomes famous for the wrong reasons. Finally the police return it but now it won’t stay in place until it’s good and ready.
