Marilyn is an ex-photographic model. During the course of a lecture to new sales girls of the Estelle cosmetic range, she forgets her notes to reveal more and more about her personal life. Once a celebrity as the original "Estelle girl", she is now stranded in a job she finds unfulfilling. Obsessed with appearances and fooled by the false promises and illusions cosmetics create, Marilyn demonstrates for her audience the various "Looks" created for her as the Estelle girl. She becomes lost in the fantasy world of each one, slowly losing all sense of her identity until circumstances force her to confront her real self. For the first time in her life she ceases to be an object, but is unsure if she can cope with this new sense of self-awareness.
