CAR GODS BURN!

by P. P. Cranney

Eighteen-year-old Adam is busted for speeding and doing burnouts, and is about to lose his licence. To pay his fines, he must sell his beloved souped-up '84 Gemini, a gift from his father, who has helped him do it up. Kirsty's father, Harley, a highway patrol cop, is buying his 17-year-old daughter a car of her own in an attempt to bribe her out of her ambitions to be a model. When Adam takes Kirsty into his world of fast cars and street racing, there is bound to be trouble down the road.

"...the best scenes are sharply drawn and often very funny... At its best, this work shows those people usually only demonised from a distance by the safety nanny-staters and the media's love of stereotype." - Stephen Dunne, Sydney Morning Herald
