Lachlan Philpott's reputation as one of the country's outstanding playwrights was cemented with the recent announcement of his AWGIE Award for Silent Disco.

Lachlan has an ongoing association with the Australian Theatre for Young People's development program, Fresh Ink, and he's one of the tutors this year.

Fresh Ink has recorded an in-depth conversation with Lachlan, in which he discusses his start in theatre, his process and practice as a playwright, where his characters come from and the importance of place in his work ... and of course Silent Disco.
